Chief Operating Officer - Collier Boulevard

After serving 24 years in the U.S. Air Force and retiring as a Colonel, Rick joined Health Management Associates in 2012. As a senior Air Force officer, he commanded in leadership positions worldwide to include Germany, Hawaii, the Pentagon, and NATO. He also served as a Commander on Andrews Air Force Base as a key leader supporting the President of the United States and Air Force One missions. He then led a multi-national NATO unit at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where he was responsible for all security, engineering & maintenance, transportation, administration, human resources, supply, logistics, food service, safety, and linguistic translation, supporting the 26-nation NATO command. Rick then served as the Deputy Base Commander of Eglin Air Force Base in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida--the Department of Defense's largest installation of more than 725 square miles. Following that assignment he served as Base Commander of the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he was responsible for all support to the 25 square mile installation and Service Academy. Finally, prior to joining Health Management Associates, he was Director of Manpower and Personnel for U.S. Strategic Command overseeing all human resource programs for the United States' nuclear and space forces. He has traveled to more than 80 countries and for 3 years was also an Aide to an Air Force 4-star general.

Rick has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado and a Master of Science degree in Public Administration & Policy from Central Michigan University. As current Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Medical Center to include strategic planning, budgeting, staffing, physician recruitment, and daily problem solving. He also oversees Radiology, Laboratory, Food & Nutrition Services, Facilities Management, Wound Care, Sleep Lab, Cardiology, and Environmental Services. Also has oversight of Respiratory Services, Physical Therapy, and manages physician contracts relating to medical office space, specialty on-call agreements, medical directorship agreements, and clinical service agreements.
