Physicians Regional Healthcare System: Caring for You and the Place We All Call Home
4/1/2026
More than 460,000 times last year, we were privileged to provide quality healthcare for our Southwest Florida neighbors. As we care for you and the place we all call home, our impact is deep, contributing more than $213 million to the region through charity/uncompensated care, reinvestment in services, employee payroll, charitable projects and payment of more than $17 million in taxes that support area schools and infrastructure.
Through more than $7 million in capital projects in 2025, patients now have more access and an enhanced patient experience. We have recruited physicians to the area in cardiovascular disease, orthopedics, gynecology, general surgery and primary care. The capital projects also brought new technology and robots into our operating rooms, helping our surgeons deliver more minimally invasive procedures for their patients.
Every new physician, enhanced technology or facility supports local residents and seasonal patients who visit us from across the country. Health is central to quality of life, and we are committed to offering advanced medical services here in Southwest Florida to make it easier to get the care our patients need. It’s a privilege to transform lives every day, helping patients manage their health at every stage of life.
Emergency medicine remains a vital service at Physicians Regional, with more than 53,000 visits to the emergency room at our hospitals. We provide life-saving medically necessary care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay, delivering more than $213 million in charity and uncompensated care and resources to help them secure medications and medical support devices.
Through financial donations and acts of service, we support local charitable and community organizations including the Immokalee Foundation and the David Lawerence Center, and our third annual Jars of Love drive collected more than 1,500 jars of peanut and other nut butters for St. Matthews House to help combat food insecurity in our community.
The heart of our health system is our dedicated team of physicians, nurses and staff. Payroll of more than $196 million supports their tireless, around the clock delivery of quality care and we are grateful for their service. This team is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those who are counting on us. Together, we have an unwavering commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and doing the right thing every day for those who trust us with their care.
