Care Close to Home
Whether you need acute emergency treatment due to a heart attack or have a chronic heart condition that requires continued care, Physicians Regional Healthcare System has cardiologists close to your home. With two locations, one on Collier Blvd and one on Pine Ridge Road, we’re positioned to serve you – wherever you live in Collier County.
Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the study, diagnosis and care of the cardiovascular system. Since there are so many aspects of your heart's function, your cardiologist has to consider many variables when identifying what may be wrong with your heart. Some of these variables include your heart, arteries or blood vessels.
There are three main types of cardiology: invasive, non-invasive and interventional. Your cardiologist may use one or a combination of techniques to identify and treat your heart condition.
Physicians Regional Healthcare System's expanded heart center includes advanced surgical equipment and technologies, allowing a range of interventional cardiology procedures, including minimally invasive structural heart procedures. These services include coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), heart valve repair or replacement, as well as aoritic, carotid and thoracic procedures.
Our cardiac care teams provide heart care services for patients throughout the area. Our patients have received a wide range of treatments, from lifesaving procedures to education on a heart-healthy lifestyle; treatment is available for conditions ranging from heart failure to heart attack to vascular disease and beyond.

Our Accreditation Makes a Difference
At Physicians Regional Healthcare System, we aim to provide quality care. This means going the extra mile to make sure that the doctors, nurses, technology and facilities at Physicians Regional qualify for certain accreditations.
Accredited Chest Pain Centers
Both Physicians Regional Healthcare System locations are Accredited Chest Pain Centers. In order to qualify for this accreditation, we use an operational model that combines scientific evidence with process improvement initiatives for the care of any patient who might be having a heart attack. Reducing the time it takes to receive treatment is essential in caring for a heart attack patient. Accredited facilities like ours better monitor patients when it is not yet clear whether or not a potentially life-threatening coronary event is occurring. This monitoring helps us ensure that patients are neither discharged too early nor admitted to the hospital without cause.
An Accredited Chest Pain Center’s (CPC) approach to cardiac patient care allows clinicians to reduce time to treatment during the critical early stages of a heart attack.
Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation
Our hospitals have received full Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditations. This means that this location also has percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) available 24/7 on site. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is a non-surgical procedure that improves blood flow to the heart by inserting a balloon catheter into the artery to relieve any narrowing or blockage.
Accredited Echocardiography Centers
Both Physicians Regional Healthcare System locations are Accredited Echocardiography Centers. Patients can rely on accreditation as an indication that the facility performing their examination has made a commitment to providing quality testing for the diagnosis of heart disease and disorders. Our accredited facility has been carefully critiqued on all aspects of its operations considered relevant by medical experts in the field of echocardiography.
Accreditation by IAC means:
- Our facility has undergone a thorough review of its operational and technical components by a panel of experts in the field.
- Our facility upholds processes that are in compliance with national standards.
- Our facility has standards in place for patient and personnel safety.
- Our facility’s accreditation is valid for a period of three years.
- As a patient, you can have confidence the IAC-accredited facility performing your imaging is committed to quality patient care.
STEMI Program
Physicians Regional Collier Blvd and Physicians Regional Pine Ridge are both recognized as 24/7 STEMI-receiving facilities, providing around-the-clock treatment for patients experiencing chest pain and other cardiology emergencies.
STEMI stands for ST-elevation myocardial infarction, a severe heart attack caused by clotting in one or more arteries, and is a time-dependent, life-threatening condition requiring rapid recognition, diagnosis and treatment. The new program gives patients local access to a team of specialists from emergency management services, emergency department and cath lab to floor nurses, board-certified and fellowship trained cardiac physicians and advanced practice nurses providing rapid response, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in an environment that is dedicated to cardiac care.
Working in coordination with Collier County EMS and local first responders, the physicians and staff at Physicians Regional Collier Blvd will expedite the diagnosis and treatment of all cardiac emergencies. The goal is to have a patient receiving treatment within 90 minutes of paramedics’ arrival, a timeframe known as the door-to-balloon golden rule, for restoring blood flow in the blocked arteries responsible for STEMI.
Providing cardiac access for our community, whether North Naples or Marco Island, is key. Now that Physicians Regional Healthcare System offers STEMI care, patients no longer need extended transport times to locate the nearest STEMI-receiving facility for heart attack care.
Mended Hearts
The Heart Center at Physicians Regional is excited to offer Collier County our new Mended Hearts program - a national and community-based non-profit organization that provides support to those diagnosed with heart disease.
Mended Hearts volunteers include heart patients, their families and others impacted by heart disease. Its members draw on personal experience as they offer peer-to-peer support to patients, family members and caregivers through hospital, online and phone visiting programs, support group meetings and educational forums.
For more than 60 years, Mended Hearts has facilitated a positive patient experience by offering hope and education. We are proud to bring Mended Hearts to Collier County to continue their work in our community.
